Enchanted Butterfly Garden
How would it feel to be encircled by flickering colors of butterflies? One can experience this by visiting the island paradise of Boracay.
Boracay is famous for its powdery white beaches and its incredibly crystal clear waters. Some tourists can relax beneath the wonderful warmth of the sun, lying on the fine sand. While other tourists can indulge in scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming, kayaking, jet skiing, and island hopping. But what many tourists are not aware of is the fact that the paradise island of Boracay is the sanctuary of a wide variety of butterfly species.
This sanctuary of butterflies can be found at the Boracay Butterfly Garden, which is located at the Bolabog Beach. If the tourist will be coming from the D’Mall Shopping Center, the Boracay Butterfly Garden is just a five-minute walk away. That is, the tourist must cross the main road and must reach the gateway of the Boracay Water and Sewerage System. Then, he must turn left and walk along a small track that leads to the Bolabog Beach.
Another way to reach the Boracay Butterfly Garden is to use a tricycle that will lead to the Bolabog Beach. Once on the Beach, the tourist will just need to take a short walk towards the Butterfly Garden. And still another way to this enchanting sanctuary of butterflies is via the boats, which are used in any of the available “Island Hopping Boat Toursâ€. The tourist may ask the boatman to include a stopover at the Boracay Butterfly Garden.
Once in the Butterfly Garden, one will find oneself surrounded by a multitude of plant species. There are more than 150 types of plants in this tropical enchanting garden. And, of course, the main feature is the presence of various multi-colored butterflies. On any typical day, one will find around 200 to 300 tropical butterflies flitting from one plant to another.
Butterflies, like all other insects, possess the three major parts: the head, the thorax, and the abdomen. And, like all other insects, butterflies have three pairs of legs. But what makes butterflies different from other insects is the presence of uniquely colored wings. And when together, one will see a beautiful patchwork of rainbow-like colors, as if a magical shower was conjured by a flick of an invisible wand.
Some of the butterflies commonly found at the garden are the Stripped Blue Crow, the Spotted Black Crow, the Autumn Leaf, the Red Lacewing, the White Tree Nymph, the Plain Tiger, the Common Mime, the Chilasa, the Scarlet Mormon, the Common Mormon, and the Citrus Swallowtail.
